Who we are

The Make Spot is the dream business of Lucy Adams. After over 20 years as a teacher of textiles and art, and many years creating works of textile art based on children's creative works, she decided to open a studio to teach people to sew in a new way. The Make Spot studio in Chepstow was opened in 2019. After a few years, the decision was made to relocate to the village of Portskewett just outside Chepstow into a custom-built studio space offering dedicated and purposeful facilities and equipment. While the focus is always on teaching sewing skills and developing customers' technical and artistic abilities we take pride in providing a warm, welcoming and community-motivated environment in which to sew.
