We've had a fun, busy and productive week at The Make Spot. It has been our first full week of courses. We started on Monday with our beginners homeware course where we made stylish tissue box covers in our exclusive Liberty print.
Wednesday was our beginner's dressmakers course where we made cute and practical tissue pouches. Our lovely sewers used the quilt-as-you-go technique and made their own binding; fantstic results considering that some had never used a sewing machine before!!
On Thursday we held beginners Allsorts, and kid's 8-11 sewing. I wanted to really challenge our Allsort's, so at the start of the class I told them that as part of the fold-up pouch make, they would start by inserting a zip! Despite their trepidation they all took on the challenge and had great results. I can't wait to see the finished results next week!
Our last course of the week was our aged 8-11 beginners. Our mini-sewers did an amazing job on the sewing machines, resulting in fully lined, very cute envelope purses complete with coloured press studs.
I can't wait to see how all of our sewers get on next week!
