Fantastic! Second session and I’m booking for next term. Have made 2 item already and learnt so much. Lucy’s warm and welcoming manner, knowledge and patience make the experience. Whether you are a beginner or returning to sewing I could t recommend Make Spot enough!
I have enrolled again for the autumn term.
But last term gave me the confidence to make the dress and jacket for the Jane Austen Festival in Bath.
I have another project for this term.
Trying a new project making a baby romper. Learnt how to copy a pattern to the size I needed. Great discussion on how to pattern match with the jersey fabric and how to cut out small pieces, marking small pieces and help from Lucy to make sense of confusing pattern instructions. I’ve been putting this off but came home and cut out another romper in another fabric. Amazing how confidence has developed so much in 2 hours following Lucy’s encouragement
Fantastic couple of hours developing skills. I walk into the studio and am able to focus purely on my project and forget everything else that is going on.
It’s been wonderful to have such individual help for my project and amazing encouragement to try need ideas. Working in such a relaxed, calm and pleasant atmosphere is such a treat .
Really lovely relaxed friendly group. With the help of Lucy's expertise and teaching skills, I have produced clothes I'm proud to wear and tell people I made them myself when people compliment me. I never thought I could be so creative until I joined The Make Spot adult all ability classes.
Really enjoyed these sewing classes and I plan on booking the next ones too! I've learnt so much after just a few classes and I'm looking forward to trying lots of new sewing projects :)
A great way to build your confidence, get hands on help and suggestions for tricky bits, help with fitting (so much easier not trying to pin things on yourself!), and access to machines and kit you might not have at home.
I call it sewing club, it's lovely to sit and chat with other members of the class - what goes on at sewing club, stays at sewing club!
Great class and a fantastic opportunity to learn a new skill with others. Really lovely atmosphere and very helpful tutor who goes above and beyond to help the class and generate ideas. Highly recommend.
